5/7/07 - Elmo has found his way from a shelter in Utah to living large in San Francisco.  His new owners, Mark and John, are going to give Elmo the care and love that he needs.  He will be the top dog in their home with his very own backyard.  He is going to get lots of walks and trips to the beach.  He tolerated baths very well, so we'll see how he likes the ocean.  One of the benefits in their San Francisco neighborhood is a butcher who likes dogs!  Elmo may have had a difficult life to begin with, but thanks to B.O.N.E. he is now one happy dog. 

Original Story 4/20/07 Elmo was wandering the streets when he was picked up by animal control. Even though he waited patiently, his family never came to claim him, so he was rescued by B.O.N.E.

Elmo is under two years old. He is mostly black with some gray/white on his chest and has cute white tips on his feet. He has a beautiful, bushy tail. Elmo is 20 inches tall at the shoulder and weighs 37 pounds. Elmo needed a good brushing when he arrived at his foster home. He did very well with his grooming even though his foster dad brushed out so much hair they were sure he was hiding another puppy in his coat!!

Elmo is very loving and affectionate. He likes to play with toys, including playing ball and tug. It is obvious that Elmo has had some training as he understands command such as sit, down, and off. Elmo pulls a bit when walking on a lead, but he does understand “heel.” Elmo is good with other dogs and enjoys a good romp. Elmo hasn’t been around children or cats, but with his sweet, playful attitude, we think that he would be fine. Elmo is housebroken, crate trained, and up to date on his shots. He will be neuter on April 24th. At that time, he will have his heartworm check and started on heartworm preventative as well as flea preventative.
