Reggie in North Carolina
Has a Home

4/16/2006 - Reggie was fostered by an amazing couple who got up at four a.m. one morning to arrive at the shelter when it opened. Reggie was matted but adorable, a stray who was picked up near Fayetteville, NC. This is an army base and transient living abounds, the shelter is overflowing with dogs whose owners have been deployed or moved on without them. Kris and Steve brought Reggie back to Charlotte, NC and nursed him through a severe upperrespiratory infection

that required hospitalization. Reggie was put up on the BONE website after he was back to normal, and his foster parents realized how much they truly love him. Here's a photo of Reggie with his wheaten mix sister Zoe, a rescue they adopted in July of 2004. Seems kind of fitting that Reggie comes from a town of miliatry men: Kris' son will be returning to Iraq in June. Wishing them all the best of luck.

Original Story 04/18/06-Reggie was a skinny boy when we picked him up, he had been living as a stray--and we cannot believe that anyone would let a cutie like him get away!

He is approximately a year old, and if a pint-sized Beardie mix is what you're after, then keep reading.  Reggie is gaining weight and the vet said he should be about 27 pounds for his height.  We think he is part Beardie and part Tibetan Terrier.  He is a real lap dog and loves to play with his foster sister, who is a wheaten terrier mix.

Reggie is showing some signs of resource guarding if a human comes near a treat; he also is protective of his foster Mom i.e., will bark at someone who approaches her when she walks him on a leash.  Because of this we think he will do better in an adult home. He is housetrained and happy, and will make someone a great pet.  Due to the medical expenses for Reggie as he could a bad cough at the shelter, his adoption fee is $200 (but he is SO worth it).
