Original Story 04/01/06 - Lily is back. Her adoptive family (adopted 03/18) tried to work through her shyness, and while Lily warmed up to the wife, playing with her greeting her with a wagging tail, and becoming her constant companion, she was very afraid of the husband. However, one evening she let the husband brush her for a LONG time and even trim the hair out of her ears. We feel that it’s quite possible that Lily was abused by a man. The family reported that she also rides very well in a car. So, Lily is once again looking for a forever home. We feel that Lily would be perfect for a single woman or even a couple with another dog. While Lily has been here, she seems to have learned a great deal from my dogs. Perhaps if Lily could watch another dog interact happily with man, this will help her overcome her fear. Lily is a love, but she is SHY and needs time to trust. Lily is looking for a family who is willing to give this sweetheart patience and time to overcome her fear and in return, she will give you a lifetime of love and devotion.
(03/15/06) - Lily has had a rough time in her short life. When I went to the shelter to see Lily, she was so frightened that she couldn’t even stand and needed to be carried to my car. When we arrived at my home, the true Lily began to emerge. She jumped right out and immediately made friends with my dogs. Lily is about one year old with a beautiful black and gray coat, a white chest, and four cute white feet. The shelter shaved her face and her beard is starting to grow back in. She is 16-17 inches tall and weighs 35 pounds. Lily is housebroken, crate trained, very smart, and LOVES, LOVES, LOVES her toys. She is delighted with all the dog toys here and can usually be found carrying a toy around in her mouth.
The only thing that Lily asks is that her new family be patient with her. She really loves attention and is very gentle. She is just shy and learning to trust people. She would be perfect for either a single woman or a family with older children.
