Maisy in North Carolina
Has a Home

11/8/05 Maisy was rescued from a high kill shelter in Nashville, NC.  She was shy and timid but gained much confidence living with other dogs who showed her that humans weren't so bad after all.  The most wonderful forever home has come to get her, she shares her life now with a Polish Sheepdog mix 'brother' Benny, and three very senior little pug, chihuahua and pom mixes.  Her doting forever parents have a fenced acre for her to run and eyeball the deer, turkeys and other wildlife that pass by.  She is going to be spoiled rotten.  One added plus: her dog savvy Mom has been a Humane Society volunteer/fundraiser for a decade. She could have rescued another dog from the shelter, but came a long distance to pick up Maisy, who she thought would be the perfect playmate for Benny.   Hooray for Maisy!  She never met a dog she couldn't win over.

08/21/05 - Maisy is a young Neardie who was picked up as a stray. She is 35 pounds and needs to gain a few, but she is healthy and beautiful and sweet. She is very noise sensitive, so she will need to be in a home without children as she will currently shy from even the sound of unfamiliar noises (like crumbling paper).

She would do great with another friendly dog, she seems to be learning from other dogs now and loves them. We will NOT adopt to anyone who wants an offleash dog; the sound of thunder, a loud backfire, or anything like that would have her heading for the hills. If you can help Maisy build her confidence, you will be rewarded with lots of kisses as she is so smart and eager to please.
