4/1/05 Molly went to her new home with the Tesars in Homewood, IL, on April 1st. I think the Tesars were smitten the minute they laid eyes on Molly, & she greeted them very enthusiastically, which was nice to see, since she had been pretty shy while staying with us. Molly has chronic ear problems, mostly from lack of care before she got to BONE, but Michon Tesar was quite unphased & asked a lot of questions about how I'd been caring for Molly's ears. They previously had an Old English & a Beardie, & really liked Molly's slightly smaller size. It sounds like she will be getting lots of walks, too, which this girl just adores - you would never know she's 10 years old if you saw her in action! On a personal note, we really miss MollyMolly (our name for her) & were surprised at what a hole she left in our hearts! We hope the Tesars enjoy her company for a good many years to come.
| Original story 3/13/05 -Molly is a 10-yr-young beardie mix - possibly with cocker spaniel? She weighs 28-30 lbs. & is built like a cocker, but a bit larger, with a very soft, shaggy coat. She's a very sweet girl whose family moved & left her behind, so she's somewhat bewildered; though from the way she acts, she didn't get a lot of attention before. A neighbor or friend of the family turned her in to the shelter we got her out of. She seldom barks & is very well-behaved; she's spayed, UTD on all her shots, & is heartworm negative. Her health panel shows her to be in tip-top shape, though she is something of a couch potato. |

| She doesn't like being groomed much; but that may partly be due to her ear infections - clearly they hurt. We are treating her with antibiotics & so far her ears appear to be responding. The shelter vet trimmed her face & ears quite a bit, or she'd be look even shaggier. We can't understand why anyone would leave such a sweet dog behind; won't you please consider giving her the life of comfort & leisure she deserves? Note: some resistance to mooching is helpful with Molly; she will sit right in front of you & fix you with her big brown eyes, never making a sound, hoping you'll share whatever you are eating with her! |
