Ben in Indiana
Has a Home

2/20/05 - Ben has found his forever home.  He has gone to live in suburban Columbus, OH with the Massays.  Kari decided she and Ben were right for each other the moment they met. Kari said her husband had asked her how she would know if Ben would be right for them as they have waited six years since their previous beloved beardied had passed.  She said, "I told him I'll just know"...and she did. This couple works at home so Ben will have all the human companionship that he could ever want and deserve.  Good guy, right family.  Best wishes for a good life Ben.

Original Story 1/12/05 - Ben is housebroken, calm, quiet and affectionate. He is happy being confined to one room at night. He is not cat friendly and does not belong in a home with small children. He rides well in the car and likes adults. Ben would probably do better as an only dog, or with another adult dog. He does not shed heavily and is confident enough to sound an alarm when someone comes to the door.

He is currently being fostered near Ft . Wayne, IN
About 5 years old, Male, Altered, up to date on vacinations and negative on heart worm (he is healthy)

Temperament: needs home w/ teenagers or adults (no small children. Affectionate, calm, with adults. Not cat friendly. Best if only dog, but might tolerate another calm dog.

Note: Ben was an owner surrender adopted directly by the Smith family on 11/30/04 .  They had already seen him at the Indy H.S. shelter and followed up on him with me directly. They found they could not care for him with their small children and surendered to BONE Rescue. This is one reason we prefer to take rescues from the shelter, and to temperament test them before finding a best fit forever family.
