RUSTY in North Carolina
Not a neardie
Has a Home

2/14/04 - It’s Valentine’s Day, a perfect day to send a dog to his forever home. Rusty was picked early in the morning by an excited family from Charlotte, NC. Deborah and Brian, two schoolteachers and their daughter Lanie were headed for a shopping spree at PetSmart. They fell in love with Rusty a week ago when they met him, and it was also the anniversary of their late dog Sydney’s passing. They felt it was ‘meant to be’ that they met Rusty the same day, and have been preparing for his arrival all week with the installation of baby gates, ordering a monogrammed bed and browsing the pet supply stores for toys that he might like. Our foster Mother DeAn was sad to see him go, but had become very attached to him saying ‘he was the best foster yet’.

Original Story 1/24/04 - Rusty is 38 pounds and not a Beardie mix, but a shaggy delight. He was at the pound and when we went by his cage, he raised one paw to say ‘hi’. His face is more teddy bear-ish in person, and his coat is as rich and red as an Irish Setter. He does not seem to have an undercoat. He is estimated by the vet at 12-18 months old. Rusty loves everyone and is so eager to learn and please.

Cute Rusty
Rusty sit He is still active and loves to run a play, a fenced yard is a plus and he is outstanding with other dogs. He doesn’t mind kitties and loves children as well. If you want a shaggy but don’t have to have a Beardie mix, you will get all the love you want and a coat that will just get better and better as Rusty’s nutrition becomes more consistent.
