2/21/04 Forrest's story is one of mixed blessings. He was discovered in a Forrest Arkansas shelter 1/26/04 by Marti Houge who lives in Wisconsin. Marty sometimes works with shelters in Arkansas and appealed to BCCA rescue to take a look at him. With help for shelter volunteers, this little guy made his way to Anne Weiss on 1/29/04. Although Anne was drawn into BONE's rescue system as the photos appeared he was a mix., She was not a regular volunteer for BONE, but is a Beardie owner and member of BCCA. Forrest had Heartworm and his expenses would be high. To make the situation more difficult, Forrest, it turned out, was not even part Beardie, maybe a bit terrier - so he was truned over to the care of BONE rescue. Anne would work with him with BONE's approval (we asked her to get involved, and we would follow up on our commitments). Anne, having no room at home, would end up taking Forrest to a freindly boarding kennel who had trainers to evaluate him. This was important as Forrest had another problem - he wanted to bite everyone and was agressive. No matter how he was treated or worked with, he simply was an agressive dog. Yet Anne would continue working with him, and would drive back and forth with Forrest to the vet for treatments. There comes a time, in eve rescue, when a dog seems to be beyond saving. Even though a lot of money had been spent on Forrest .. the commitee considered letting Forrest be put to sleep due to his aggression. He was on his last chance when one of the vet technicians said she wanted to give Forrest his chance and would adopt him. So Forrest has his last chance, we cna only
hope that with love and training he will make his new owner happy with
her decision. His adoption fees waived, and the new owner taking care
of the res of his needs. {STORY}
