Has a Home

7/22/03 Hariett, now Erika, has moved to North Carolina with her new family and their briard mix rescue. She will be living on several lovely mountain acres with an orchard and gardens. Her new mom is a spinner/weaver/knitter whose favorite "wool" is dog hair ! They explained Harriett's new name as follows:

"The reason we are calling her Erika is that we grow a plants called erica and caluna vulgaris [heath and heather] with the erica being the toughest and most adaptable, colorful, exciting and blooming all the time.... and that is what Harriett/Erika is already to us! "

Original Story 7/14/03 - Harriett is beardie to the bone. She is a delightful and endearing dog, full of energy and loves attention. Her new owner will need a loving but firm hand as she transitions into a new home. She wants to be with the people in the house. She will work at getting to them even if it means climbing a gate. She will bark and try to talk to you to get your attention.

She is very bright and has learned how to return a ball, eat ice, garden, mow the lawn and has picked up the routines of her temporary home within just a few days. She is very athletic and would be great at competing in agility. Harriet is approximately 1-1/2 to 2 years old, spayed, current on vaccinations and heartworm negative and gets along with other dogs.
