DANDY in CHARLOTTE, NC
Dandy Side
Has a Home

Adopted: June 22, 2003 - Dandy was pulled from the Charlotte Mecklenberg Animal Shelter as a stray. This calm, gentle, dog-loving, child-loving, people-loving young dog seemed to have no faults...but he is a wanderer, and needs training. His striking Beardie/Briard looks are hard to resist. Dandy was adopted by a couple who already has one Neardie, Simon. They drove eight hours each way to adopt Simon, so we knew they were a committed family. His new name is “Hank” and he will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Original Story Rescued: May, 2003 - Dandy’s a special boy who deserves a loving and devoted forever home. He is lead trained, house trained (no accidents in the entire time he’s been in foster care). No destructive behaviors (chews the lead only when bored, now). Plays well with others, likes children. Curious, gentle and loving young man, who enjoys meeting new people and shopping at Petsmart. Does not jump on people, sits and settles on command – needs exercise and playmates to be perfectly happy! Even more beautiful in person. This beautiful mix may be a Bearded Collie/Briard mix. He gets oohs and aahs wherever he goes for his camel coat and striking Briard ears. He is approximately a year to two years old, and still very playful and puppyish but not hyper.

His personality is so loving and curious. Dandy adores all other dogs, large and small, he loves children, and is curious about kitties. Dandy is an escape artist, which may be tied to separation anxiety so a home where one spouse is home most of the day and other animal companions is the best situation for him. He has squeezed through a wrought iron gate, jumped a baby gate, bitten through his leash and jumped out a car window that was halfway down. He is only 45 pounds and painfully thin, which is why he could squeeze through the gate. Dandy Face

With some bonding and training, he will make an extraordinary pet.
