Rags in Mississippi
Now in Ohio
Has a Home

11/29/02 - Rags was Adopted by Jen Hawkins in Ohio. Rags was found wandering the road in Olive Branch, MS. near the home of one of the Olive Branch Humane Society volunteers.
Paula (the volunteer) rescued Rags and fostered him until a new home could be found. Thanks to Judy Barnette, who saw him on the PetFinders website, we got involved. We posted pictures and information on the BONE website and were soon contacted by Jen Hawkins in Ohio. Jen had been looking for a Neardie and had completed a BONE adoption application. She and her husband have 2 small kids and thought Rags was adorable (we agree!).

Soon, she was on the phone to Paula who quickly approved of her. We contacted her references and agreed with Paula. So....a meeting was set up. We picked up Rags, bathed and brushed him and on Sat, Dec 7, we took him to meet Jen in Nashville, TN. He was a hit and off they went.
We spoke to Jen the next day and she said that she couldn't be more pleased. Rags goes to the door and waits if he has to go out, hasn't had any accidents in the house (yet...it's only 1 day!) and loves the kids. RAGS HAS A FOREVER HOME!!!

Original Story 11/11/02 Rags gets along great with other dogs and, we think housebroken. He has been running with the other dogs in the fenced in 1 acre pen and has gotten along great. He is very sweet and loves to get his belly rubbed. The vet said he was about 2-3 years old but I would say he is between 3 and 4. I don't know how he is with kids nor what he would do if he was loose but the lady who originally rescued him said when she went to get him near the road, he ran at first then came to her and got in the car. He knows his name now and comes when he is called.
