Liddy (North Carolina)

Has a Home

Princess (was Liddy) went to her forever home 1/18/01. I felt very sure that her new mom would love Princess and give her a wonderful home so I let her go this afternoon. It was a week ago today that I took Liddy from the shelter. She was a matted, stinky, dirty dog that had spent a month in the shelter but she still had a spark. She still trusted and wanted to be loved. She's been cleaned up, spayed, dewormed and received a very becoming puppy cut. She was gaining confidence by the hour. When Liddy met her adopter it was love at first sight. Liddy will be an only dog and she will have 3 grandchildren to play with at times. Her new mom loves to walk and is very active so Princess will be in good shape in no time. She is planning on obedience classes for Princess asap.

Princess at home

Original Story:

I discovered her at Rowan County Animal Control, Salisbury, NC 1/12/01. She was picked up, abandoned on some remote country road December 9, 2000 so she's been at the shelter for a month. I took her out of the shelter today and checked her into the vet for shots, heartworm check, spay and much needed bath. I'm not sure if she is beardie, beardie mix or what. She is however very loving and sweet. This girl is mostly black with white on the beard and chest. Just a bit of white on the feet. There is some gray along her back. Black eyes, black pigment. Hair about 3, maybe 4 inches long but very matted and may have to be clipped down. She weighs 43 to 45 pounds and is about 21 to 22 inches high. She is very submissive but responds well to attention. Doesn't shy away from people. Seems to crave attention. With all the poking and prodding she has not exhibited any signs of aggression. No growls, no threats to bite. She is a real sweetie that needs some TLC and patience.
