Abbey - Texas
Has A Home
Abby has been adopted 8/25/00 Her new family will consist of one of the adopters on our waitlist, Karen Long in Garland Texas - and her 2 (much larger) male fur-mates (giant schnauzers).

This is Abbey - she's currently in a foster home (mine!) in Dallas, TX. She is 8 months old.  When she was 6 months old, she was found by BCCA rescue as a stray in a local animal shelter.  They found her a new home. Unfortunately, things have changed rapidly in her new home and they decided it would be best to let her go to a more stable environment.  Wade from BCCA rescue contacted me since she's in my area, and requested assistance in placing her.  I met with her (now previous) owner on the evening of 8/21 to pick her up.  So, now she is a BONE pup.
She is up to date on all her vaccinations and has been spayed. She may be a purebred, but we'll probably never know.  Personally, I think her coat is the wrong texture.  Much thicker and coarser than most beardies I've met - almost OES-like in consistency.
Her vet records have her as being 30 pounds, but I think she may have grown a bit since then, since she's about the same size as Max and he's 40 pounds!  She also has very large feet, so she may still have some more growing ahead of her!

Her personality is VERY energetic.  She is almost always moving!  She is also very friendly.  She is a submissive urinator and does it when very excited too.  The previous owner mentioned it, but I didn't actually see her do this until I went to get her from daycare today.  She gets along great with Max (my beardie).  Initially, she seemed very aggressive towards him, but that was when she was being given over to me.  So, it seems that was a fear-issue, which is quite understandable given the situation.  Now seeing her in her more relaxed state, I doubt she would ever intentionally hurt anyone or anything!  She used to live with a cat, and they got along great.  She is oblivious to the bunnies, only shows an interest when they make too much noise.

She is also very "kissy".  She loves to lick you... a lot.  In fact, she would probably do it all the time, forever, if you let her!
