Charlie In Maryland

Has a Home

.1/1/03 New Years day was the start of a new life for Charlie (a.k.a, Zeus), who had been fostered in Columbia, MD, after being rescued from a shelter in West Virginia. Charlie's foster parents took him to a home in Baltimore, MD for a first visit and a home inspection. Despite the fact that Charlie promptly deposited an unwelcome package right smack in front of the Christmas tree ("Trees are usually outside!" Charlie would protest), the warm couple and grandchild fell in love with Charlie right from the start. They said they wanted the 24" tall, 60+ lb puppy, and later that day received the call that Charlie was going to be their new buddy.

Now Charlie is in a very loving and dog friendly home. Charlie's new parents have had many dogs over the years, and have frequently taken in dogs from others who had difficulties caring for their pets. Charlie now runs in a large fenced-in yard, enjoys daily walks in the park, and receives lots of care, affection, and opportunities to play with his new parents and their three (human) grandchildren. Things have turned out great for Charlie, who less than a month ago was scheduled for destruction, and now has found a new permanent home with people who love him.

Original Story 12/22/02 Charlie was days away from being killed at a shelter in West Virginia when a foster family in central Maryland was found by BONE and Charlie was saved.

This 60 lb and tall puppy, probably born around March 2002, has a very sweet temperament. He loves attention, but can also get on by himself for a time if he has some favorite toys. He will probably get along with other pets well (he plays enthusiastically, but gently, with the foster family's much smaller Beardie/mix puppy). Charlie responds reasonably well to his name, to "sit", and to "off", is doing quite well with crate training, and is making progress with house training. He has been neutered, and is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations
