We have secured the spacious lawns of the Sonoma-Marin Fair grounds, just 10 minutes south from the Doubletree, off Hwy 101 in Petaluma, for our Monday October 27th trial.  The site offers lots of space for setting up your own pop-up tents on the lawn.  We will have two rings set up, one for jumpers and one for standard and we will be offering the FAST class.  We are very pleased to have Ann B. McQuillen as our agility judge for the day.  She has come well recommended by many California agility Beardies.  To complete the tradition, at the end of the day we will also have our annual BAD relay.

Food & beverage will be available on site.

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Ann B. McQuillen
AKC Agility Judge

Ann McQuillen has been an AKC agility Judge since 1999. She began showing a friend’s Aussie in the 1980s because her Doberman Pinscher was too old to jump repetitively. At the time the only sanctioning organization was USDAA and titles were awarded with just one qualifying leg! She went on to show two Shelties, Digby and Lady, as well as an Australian Cattledog and two Australian Kelpies in USDAA as well as NADAC.

After the inception of the AKC program, Ann began showing all her dogs in the new venue. She owned a handled two of the twenty-two Australian Kelpies registered in AKC in the agility program. Since then, Ann has handled multiple breeds and currently handles dogs in all height divisions. She is also a DOCNA judge and shows in multiple agility venues.

Many competitors will remember Ann’s Australian Cattledog, Ted’s, “Wild Child” days, when he stepped on a judge’s head as he exited the A-Frame. He went on to earn an MX, MXJ, AXP, AXJ and NF in AKC and multiple titles in other venues. Ted is now retired. He is Ann’s ride along buddy when he isn’t installed on the couch.

Ann’s current competition dog is a very fast and sometimes silly 2 year old Parson Russell Terrier, Twister. Zip, her 15 month old, Parson Russell Terrier, is still in training. To date Twist has never been out of the ribbons and Ann is looking forward to a fun time running her in all venues.

To “earn the kibble”, Ann has been a Commercial Real Estate Broker for over 29 years. She sells and leases properties of all types as well as does residential sales for “dog people” who need someone who understands their requirements.

Ann coordinates the Rescue Referral Program that allows breed and non-profit rescue organizations to raise money through real estate referrals. Last year the program raised more than $10,000 for rescue groups around the U.S. She received the Australian Cattledog Club’s Gaines Sportsmanship Award in 2000 for her continued dedication to rescue and the breed. Ann, her husband, Peter, and all the “critters” live in Somerset, California, in the wine country of the High Sierra.
