Annual Membership Meeting
The Annual Meeting will be held on the evening of Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Doubletree Sonoma Wine Country in Rohnert Park, California. Time and room will be announced at a later date. Please make plans to attend. This is every member’s opportunity to meet their Board members and for the club to conduct business.
Board Meeting
The Board of Directors of the BCCA will meet Sunday, October 26, 2008 at the Doubletree Sonoma Wine Country in Rohnert Park, California at a time to be announced.
Notice to All Affiliated Clubs
Please have your club secretary send a listing (name, address and telephone) of your current officers and directors to the Recording Secretary of the BCCA. Mail the

2010 and 2011 National Specialty Host Clubs
Bids are now being accepted from local clubs to host the 2010 BCCA National Specialty and the 2011 BCCA National Specialty. Please contact the Recording Secretary, Linda
Taylor, 801 S. Park, San Angelo, TX 76901 or e-mail to doggieangels@msn.com. The deadline for receipt of bids is September 1, 2008.
Nominations for Regular, Sweepstakes and Futurity Judges
For the 2010 National Specialty
Please send your nominations for regular, sweepstakes and futurity judges to the Recording Secretary, Linda Taylor, 801 S. Park, San Angelo, TX 76901, or e-mail to
doggieangels@msn.com. Each BCCA member is entitled to nominate one person for regular classes, one for sweepstakes, and one for futurity.
Deadline for receipt of all nominations is September 1, 2008. Don’t wait; do it now!
A preliminary ballot with all nominations will be mailed to the membership in the November issue of Bagpipes, and must be returned to the Treasurer no later than January 15, 2009. The top three candidates from the preliminary ballot for each judging position will be presented to the membership in a final ballot in the February issue of
Bagpipes, with the ballots to be returned no later than March 30, 2009.
Nominations of judges from other countries, such as Great Britain and Canada, and who are eligible to judge championship shows, are allowed for regular conformation classes only.
In the selection of sweepstakes judges, any nominations received for English judges, or persons eligible to judge the entire Herding Group in this country or the Group to which
Bearded Collies belong in any other country, or who are eligible to judge the Breed at any AKC shows are ineligible. Only United States and Canadian residents may judge
sweepstakes at the National Specialty, Only BCCA members in good standing may be candidates to judge sweepstakes at BCCA National Specialties. All nominees for
Sweepstakes should have at least seven (7) years of experience as an exhibitor in conformation and/or as a Breeder of Bearded Collies, and have a thorough
understanding of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows and Judging, as well as the Standard of the Bearded Collie to be eligible for nomination.
To be nominated to judge futurity, an individual must be a current member in good standing with the BCCA for a period of not less than 10 years, have bred a minimum of 3
litters of Bearded Collies, and at least 5 of the resulting puppies from these litters bred have obtained their conformation championships. Any judge officiating at the BCCA National Specialty will not be permitted on the ballot again until a two (2) year time period has elapsed.
